Hilary Smoot, Senior Account Executive
Hilary Smoot first cut her PR teeth with an internship at Elektra Records, whilst studying for her Communication degree at California State University Northridge. While studying, she also got a job at Scoop Marketing, which was at the time a joint venture with Ticketmaster Corp. Working at Scoop Marketing, she did tour press for the Eagles’ “Hell Freezes Over” reunion tour, as well as many other entertainers.
The move to Vegas
Smoot moved from Los Angeles to Las Vegas and continued her public relations journey here in Sin City. Once here, she landed a management position with Planet Hollywood for their Official All Star Cafe—where she implemented countless athlete and celebrity-centric events, and thus became heavily involved in community relations.
Smoot was then taken in by the Tropicana Resort & Casino, where she was involved in a rebranding of the property. That included executing a 40th anniversary celebration of the iconic Folies Bergere, complete with showgirls from each of the 40 years of the show that became an E! Entertainment TV special.
After moving on to Luxor Las Vegas, she executed innovative PR opportunities—including the famous Luxor Light and debuting NSYNC’s IMAX “Bigger Than Live” film with the band.
